For me it’s saying that I have to fulfill commitments to others before I can focus attention on achieving my own goals. I haven’t written a new story this week because I needed to take my Mom to the doctor, I needed to clean house, I needed to run errands, I needed to prepare the HOA quarterly financial statements, etc.

Instead of honing my writing skills I’m focusing attention on completing tasks that benefit others. It’s not their fault either. I am doing this to myself. This is the behavior that I have to do differently in order to achieve success as a writer. Easier said than done.
