We have two very routine oriented cats as well. When our little girl kitty broke her leg earlier this year, she had to be confined to a bedroom for 13 weeks. She took it surprisingly well. Her brother, however, did not approve of the drastic and sudden change of routine. There was a lot of howling.

All of us, humans and cats, were very happy to eventually return to the normal daily routine.
