I know people truly believe what they say at the moment the promising statement is made. I don’t think they are liars. Still, I do find myself very disappointed with lack of follow thru. I shouldn’t, but I do. Usually I turn it around and start believing I’m not worthy of their promise. I guess that’s my way of showing compassion to them. Unfortunately I’m not showing compassion for myself in these instances. Clearly I still have some work to do on being honest with myself.
