Well said, Brian. I hope this article performs better than you think it will. You’ve already got more than 64 claps and I see it was published on Splice. That’s a milestone I haven’t been able to attain. Nothing but rejections for me from outside of Medium.

If you don’t have a sob story, a political agenda or pander to the latest media topic meant to illicit rage, then you’re pretty much going to live in obscurity. And no, obscurity does not pay well.

I’ve heard some of the early IT pubs are leaving Medium to do their own thing. My husband tells me I may want to find some place other than Medium for my writing. The buzz he’s read about Medium hasn’t been good lately.

For now, I’ll keep going here and do what I can for you. I’ll Tweet your story, but sorry to say I don’t have much of a following there either.
